WHAT IS IPHIKO?

Iphiko began in 2012 out of God’s heart of compassion for traumatised people, especially women and children.

In South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania and others, Iphiko has been providing personal trauma counselling through qualified counsellors, as well as teaching Bible school students, pastors and other key people basic counselling skills. Through these contacts they invariably find their own broken wings healed, as the Holy Spirit touches and heals them.

As well as this, Iphiko has continued to support a church we built in the tribal area (SA), where the children’s work is flourishing.

It is a great privilege to work with people and to be able to bring God’s love and healing power to them. We have seen many lives transformed by an encounter with God, people who have gained fresh hope and a belief that life can be changed.

Iphiko is a small charity with no paid staff.  Each of the volunteers give their time freely and pay for their own expenses and travel.

Iphiko is the Zulu word for “wings” and wings are what we seek to give to those who live daily with the emotional and spiritual damage of trauma of various kinds.

"But for  you who fear  my name the sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture"

Malachi 4:2

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty...
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge."

Psalm 91: 1,4
